Casement Windows
Casement Windows
Casement windows are hinged on the side and are Left, Right or Stationary.
The easiest way to determine the handing of your casement window is from the interior. All casement locks, operators, and hinges are handed based on the location of the lock when viewed from the interior. The lock location will determine the handing of the unit.

Window Sash: Replacement sash are either venting or stationary. Stationary sash will require replacement sash clips.
Operators: Replacement casement operators are handed based on the location of the lock when viewed from the interior. Some split arm operators are universal.
Locks: Locks are handed based on the location of the lock when viewed from the interior. Locks from 1995 to present are concealed behind the side stop and may be a single or tandem lock mechanism.
Hinges: Hinges are handed based on the location of the lock when viewed from the interior. Example: a left-hand window will have a left lower sill hinge and left upper head hinge.
Trim Stops: Trim stops on the sides and sill are handed based on the location of the lock when viewed from the interior. A left-hand window will use a left-hand hinge stop, a left-hand lock stop and a left-hand sill stop.
Lock handles and lock bezels are universal - these are not handed.
